A VERY SPECIAL AUCTION

On March 20th, 2007 Officer Shane Wyrsch (age 35), a 16 year veteran of the United States Forest Service Law Enforcement Division, died from injuries sustained in a car accident in Buckley, WA. Wyrsch was ”off duty“ and returning home from a meeting at about 10:20 p.m. in his private vehicle at the time of the crash. A suspected drunk driver crossed the center line and hit Wyrsch’s vehicle head-on. The driver also was driving with a suspended license at the time of the accident.

Shane was a highly respected by family, friends, and his community. He was also a friend of Brandi Carlile and her family. According to the Carlile family, Shane met Brandi years ago when she was playing gigs locally in Maple Valley. He worked ”security“ for Brandi a couple of times and quickly became a loyal fan! He was quite proud of his specially-made ”Brandi Carlile Security“ t-shirt – which he had kept through the years. He, his wife, and their two sons (ages 3 and 5) listened to Brandi’s music regularly and he attended many of Brandi’s concerts over the years.
